- How to explicitly call the specified overload function?
Like this code, the C++ compiler will convert char* to bool and then call the first function, which is inconsistent with my original intention. Is there any way to prevent the compiler from performing type conversions that I don't want?Like '-fno-permissive', but unfortunately, it doesn't work.
- What is the command to remove files in Linux from a particular directory which are owned by a particular user?
Let's say we have a directory path /home/username. How can we delete all the files only from this path which are owned/created by the user dev-user ? When I am trying find . -user c70945a -exec rm /home/dev-user/* {} ; its giving error and its removing files from other directories as well.
- 400 bad request in curl command
I'm trying to upload one file (50 GB) to share point.
Here is my command
Its showing below error
I'm using
-data-urlencode
becasue when I open my sharepoint url in browser it has%20

- Can't delete volume on sd card
I am trying to completely encrypt my SD card with veracrypt. When I try to select Full Encryption on a disk rather than a partition, I get an error that the disk contains partitions and I have to delete it.Then I try to delete partitions and volumes on the SD card, but I cannot completely delete them. After deleting volume, it is still displayed in diskpart as removable unusable volume with 0 byte size.Is it a problem with the sd card or am I doing something wrong?
- Will the IDE disk controller's register confuse when read and write share one register?
The IDE PATA interface: the 0x1F7 register is used as status regs when read and command regs when write.
But if I first write a command(i.e 0x20 ) to tell device that I want to write something to it, then the next instruction I read the reg to find the status. Will it be possible that the bits on that reg is still 0x20 rather than the status bits I want?
- MacOS can't activate volume, first aid fails, but drive is mountable under Ubuntu (read-only)
I'm currently unable to mount my standard external backup drive under MacOS 11.1. The drive will show up in Disk Utility, but the name of the volume is greyed out, and the volume itself can not be activated. Running first aid will also fail, I have attached the (german) screenshot of the output.
Now, at this point I was already pretty helpless, because all other solutions I was able to find online suggest booting the mac in single user mode and running
fsck_hfs
there ... I'm not sure if that would solve my issue, because the screenshot suggests that Disk Utility already does something like that.I then went to my Ubuntu desktop, and inserted the drive there. To my surprise, the drive got mounted fine, however in read-only mode. It seems like mounting a HFS+ volume as read-write is also not straightforward under Ubuntu, and I've made some tries, but was unsuccessful.
In theory I could copy the 1.8TB of content to my Ubuntu machine just to make sure that no data is lost ... but is there really no other solution to this problem? I don't have this much disk space on the other machine right now, so this would be a pain either way. I also think it is weird that the Ubuntu machine mounts the Apple HFS+ drive just fine, and the Mac seems to not do anything worthwhile at all ... why didn't Apple also implement something that mounts the drive read-only?
Thank you for any help.
- Is it possible to use a TLC SSD like an SLC SSD?
I’ve heard that MLC (and higher level) SSDs are slower (when nearly full) and less reliable than SLC SSDs. The problem is that I can’t seem to find SLC SSDs available for sale today, and I’ve heard that they’re more expensive.
I’m wondering if I could avoid these problems by using only a fraction of the available capacity on a TLC drive. I’m thinking that if these drives only lose performance when nearly full, then at lower usages (1/2 for MLC, 1/3 for TLC, etc) these drives must function like SLC drives.
Assuming that this is the case, would using a little bit of space at the end (for backup partition tables) cause the end of the allocated space to function as MLC? Would I need to periodically TRIM the unused sections to remind the drive that only a fraction is being used? And would these behaviours depend on specific manufacturers and firmware, or is this standard across models?
- How can I resize the root partition?
When I did the dual boot set up, I made a partition on the hard disk beacause when I was installing xubunto it didn't appear the dual-booting option, after that it did. So I choose it and devided by half one of the already halfed partition. I delete it and now I had unallocated space. I'm trying to add it to the root partition of linux. I already tryed with
gparted
but didnt work, the symbol label of the linux space is a key. Than I tryed:swapoff -a
sudo resize2fs /dev/sda5
And this message shows 'The filesystem is already 30863872 (4k) blocks long. Nothing to do!'
Is there a way to resize a root partition? without doing a reboot or using only the terminal, Iḿ new with this and I know it's very difficult to work with memory without making some mistakes.
