Creality Ender 3 Software Slicer
Before telling you why I prefer Creality 3D Ender, I must tell you that in the contemporary world. 3D printing is one of the most widely used additive processes in the industry.
There are many 3D printers available in the market. However, not all of them are great for DIY. Most of them have complex mechanisms, for instance, the operation, as well as the software – you will have difficulty in using them because of lack of proper training.
On the other hand, Creality 3D Ender is a reliable mid-range option with a great build volume of 220 x 220 x 250mm. This 3D printer has decent print volume, an open-source software, easy assembly, compact design, tight filament pathway which enhances compatibility with different filaments. Although I have certain concerns about the speed, all other features of the printer are fantastic. Well, honestly, there are many features which make this 3D printer one of the best and popular machines in the world – especially among the group of people who love DIY projects.
The printer has a heated build plate with a build volume of 220 x 220 x 250mm, an incredible power recovery mode. It also comes with a reliably designed filament pathway, which makes it extremely easy to print with different types of flexible materials.
Additionally, I feel upon myself a significant obligation to tell that you won’t find these features in any other expensive 3D printing machines. So much so, you won’t find such an easy calibration in other printers that come at the price of $600 range.
The only thing I didn’t like
There is only one issue in Creality 3D Ender – the uneven base. Well, the problem I faced concerning the uneven base was that it caused wobbling to the printer. There is a solution for that. Nonetheless, it is not mentioned in the manual of the printer.
I had to come up with my solution, and that is placing a small wedge under one corner. It decreases the intensity of the wobbling, but this isn’t the best solution for the apparent reasons – since stability is the most critical quality of any 3D printer.
You can place a large piece of glass on the base so that it does not cause wobbling. For me, the wedge worked, but it may not work for others – since it isn’t a proper solution.
Technical features of Creality 3D printer
The printer retains CR-10 vibe with durable extrusions made of aluminum, which consists of the frame and lead-screw driving from the Z-axis. It also features a cantilever style X-axis railing, which projects into thin air – thus accurately completes the loop and finally closes the frame out.
Additionally, it has a heated print bed, which measures 220 x 220mm. The measurements are nearly double than the previous model “Ender 2” printer.
There is one thing that I want to mention. When the printer gets disconnected, or it loses power, it will still resume the printing process from where it has left. In this way, you don’t have to restart the process of printing objects – thus not wasting the material.
Manufactured in China, built with high-end and cutting-edge technological tools, the printer boasts quite compelling features. You know action or performance speaks louder than words – I have tested this printer myself, and I believe that it is the best out there in the market of DIYers.
Lastly, it comes with FDM technology, 0.4mm nozzle, 200mm/s maximum print speed, 0.1mm print precision, USB and SD card connectivity, and high-quality LCD screen, and Ultimaker Cura –open-source software for Windows and Mac OS – all this under $200. Amazing!
